What to Do

The main reason visitors come to the Nemo Dolphinarium is, of course, the vibrant and dynamic show programs. Every day, except Monday, daytime performances take place featuring the main stars — bottlenose dolphins, South American fur seals, and a sea lion. These intelligent and friendly animals perform amazing tricks, dance, and play with their trainers, giving the audience unforgettable emotions. The romantic night shows held on Saturdays deserve special attention, as they include laser and fire elements, creating a truly magical atmosphere.

Beyond watching the performances, Nemo offers a unique opportunity for closer interaction with marine inhabitants. Visitors can book swimming with dolphins, during which you can not only swim alongside these amazing creatures but also feel like a trainer, play with them, and even dance a waltz. Other options include diving with dolphins, a "Meet the Dolphins" program, and the chance to take commemorative photos. For the most curious, there is a "Junior Trainer" program that allows for a deeper dive into the world of these mammals.

The complex also houses an oceanarium, which consists of an aquarium and an exotarium. Here you can see hundreds of species of fish, reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates from around the world, including sharks, piranhas, rays, and many inhabitants of coral reefs. This is a wonderful opportunity to continue your acquaintance with the underwater world and see rare and exotic animals from across our planet.

Getting There

Getting to the Nemo Odesa Dolphinarium is quite simple, as it is located in one of the city's most picturesque and accessible spots — on the promenade of the popular Langeron beach. Thanks to its location near the central part of Odesa, the journey won't take much time, regardless of your chosen mode of transport.

The most convenient way to reach the dolphinarium by public transport is to use buses or minibuses (marshrutkas) that go to the "Langeron Beach" stop. From there, it's just a pleasant short walk along the promenade directly to the entrance of the complex. You can also easily arrive by taxi or private car. For those choosing the latter, a special parking area is provided near the dolphinarium, making the visit even more comfortable.

If you prefer walking and want to combine your visit to the dolphinarium with other sightseeing, you can reach Nemo on foot. A scenic route from Primorsky Boulevard or through Shevchenko Park will not only give you a boost of energy but also allow you to enjoy beautiful views of the coastal part of the city. Such a walk is a great way to start or end a day full of vibrant impressions.

History & Facts

The history of the Nemo Odesa Dolphinarium began in 2003, when a group of enthusiasts and marine mammal specialists decided to create a modern year-round complex in Odesa. Construction work started in the spring of 2004, and on June 1, 2005, the grand opening took place, symbolically timed to International Children's Day. From the very beginning, this project was implemented in accordance with all international standards and requirements, ensuring high quality and safety for both the animals and visitors.

Since its opening, the dolphinarium has not only become one of the city's main tourist attractions but has also continued to develop actively. In 2007, the complex received permission to expand, which allowed for the construction of an oceanarium and a dolphin therapy rehabilitation and wellness center, unique for Ukraine. This center offers special programs for children with developmental needs, using recognized methods to improve their condition and social adaptation.

A notable fact in the history of "Nemo" is that it has become a birthplace for dolphin calves, which testifies to the high professionalism of the staff and the comfortable conditions for the animals. As early as August 2007, the first dolphin calf was born here, a landmark event for all dolphinariums in the country. Over the years of operation, the Odesa Dolphinarium became the starting point for the creation of the entire international Nemo network, confirming its status as one of the leading complexes of its kind in Europe.

Time Needed

When planning a visit to the Nemo Odesa Dolphinarium, it is recommended to set aside 2 to 4 hours. This is enough time to enjoy the main show featuring dolphins and other marine performers without rushing, stroll through the beautiful grounds of the complex with its fountains, and visit the oceanarium, which houses a rich collection of underwater world inhabitants.

The duration of your stay may vary depending on your interests. If you only want to see the main performance, which lasts about 50 minutes, then including time for entry and seating, an hour and a half might be sufficient. However, if you wish to take advantage of additional services such as swimming or diving with dolphins, or simply relax at one of the restaurants on the promenade, your visit could easily take half a day.

Therefore, to get the most out of your experience and explore all the opportunities Nemo offers at a leisurely pace, it's best to factor at least three hours into your schedule. This will allow you to fully experience the unique atmosphere of this place and take home many bright and positive emotions.

Working Hours

The Nemo Odesa Dolphinarium welcomes visitors all year round. Performances are held daily, except Mondays. Usually, several daytime shows are held throughout the day, while evening and night shows may be added on Saturdays and public holidays. The exact start times may vary, so it is highly recommended to check the current schedule on the dolphinarium's official website or confirm the information by phone before visiting.

Given the high popularity of this place, especially at the height of the tourist season and on weekends, it is recommended to purchase tickets in advance. This can be done online on the official website or at the complex's ticket offices. Buying in advance will not only help you guarantee a seat for your desired show but also avoid potential queues, making your visit more comfortable and well-planned.
