Imagine a place where the history of conquering the high seas comes to life. The Museum of Shipbuilding and the Fleet is more than just an exhibition space; it is a true symbol of the city of Mykolaiv, which for centuries has been rightfully considered the cradle of the fleet. Located in the heart of Ukraine, this museum is the only specialized institution of its kind entirely dedicated to the art of creating ships.

The museum is housed in a magnificent historical building — the Old House, which is itself a masterpiece of late 18th-century Classicism. Once, this building served as the residence of the commanders-in-chief of the Black Sea Fleet. Today, the museum's twelve halls house about 3,000 unique exhibits, spanning the journey from primitive dugout boats of the ancient Slavs to modern giant aircraft carriers and research vessels.
A particular point of pride for the collection is the intricately detailed ship models, recreated by hand with incredible precision. Visitors can see impressive dioramas, old maps, blueprints, and rare archaeological finds. In 2025, the museum took a significant step into the future by launching a large-scale digitization of its archives, helping preserve unique maritime knowledge for future generations.
