The park's history began in 1957, when it was decided to create a space for quiet relaxation on the site of the noisy Bazaar Square. Thanks to the efforts of the townspeople, magnificent flower beds appeared here, which is why the place was long known by the popular name Flower Park. Today, it is a well-maintained area with shady alleys, where modern architecture coexists with classic gardening traditions.

The main focus of the location is the majestic monument to the writer Konstantin Trenyov and a unique complex of four color-music fountains. In the evening, they turn into a bright spectacle, attracting families and couples. It is the perfect place for those who want to feel the rhythm of city life while remaining surrounded by nature.

What to Do

A walk through the park offers many options for pleasant leisure. You can stroll along the well-kept alleys, admiring the bright flower beds and symmetrical gardens that continue the long-standing traditions of floral exhibitions. On hot days, it is particularly pleasant to enjoy the cool air in the shade of the trees or by the water's edge.

The color-music fountains deserve special attention. In the evening, they become the main center of attraction: the combination of light, music, and dancing jets creates a truly magical atmosphere. This is a great time to take a seat on one of the modern benches and simply watch the display.

Visitors often stop by the monument to K. A. Trenyov to honor the memory of the famous playwright or look at the regional Hall of Fame. If you are looking for tranquility, the park is a wonderful place for reading books or quiet family relaxation, and the proximity of a music school sometimes fills the air with the sounds of classical melodies, giving the walk a special charm.

Getting There

Finding the park is very easy, as it is located in the very center of Simferopol, forming a cozy green square between Kirov Avenue and Sevastopolskaya, Gogol, and Samokish streets. If you are already walking near Lenin Square or the Ukrainian Musical Theater, the walk to the park will take you no more than 5–10 minutes.

For those traveling from more distant areas, public transport is the perfect option. Most buses, trolleybuses, and shuttles (marshrutkas) stop at "Prospekt Kirova," "Ulitsa Sevastopolskaya," or near the "Central Market." You can also always use taxi services—this landmark is well known to any driver in the city.

Thanks to its central location and walking distance from the main transport arteries, a visit to the park is easy to combine with other iconic city sites, making it a must-visit point on any walking route.

History & Facts

It’s hard to believe, but until the mid-20th century, this quiet square was a bustling hub of commerce. Since the 19th century, the city's largest Bazaar Square, with its lively collective farm market, was located here. It wasn't until 1957 that the market was moved elsewhere, and the empty space was transformed into a green oasis. Interestingly, the creation of the park was a true community project: local residents and youth personally planted the first trees and created the famous flower beds.

The fate of the monument to Konstantin Trenyov was quite unusual. Although the project was ready as early as 1947, the bronze figure of the writer sat in a wooden crate for seven years due to bureaucratic delays. The grand opening finally took place in 1960, after which the park was officially named after the great playwright, who lived in this city for 22 years. At the same time, the city's first color-music fountain began operating in the park.

The park acquired its modern appearance after a large-scale reconstruction in 2011–2012. The old water supply system was completely updated, and now visitors can enjoy a complex of four modern fountains. Notably, for the original landscaping of this area in 1958, an impressive sum for those times—almost three million rubles—was allocated, highlighting the object's significance for the city.

Time Needed

For a leisurely stroll along the main alleys and to view the monument and fountains, a typical visitor will need about 1–2 hours. This is enough time to enjoy the landscape design and take beautiful photos against the backdrop of the floral arrangements.

If you plan to wait for the evening fountain show, relax on a bench with a book, or combine your visit with nearby cultural attractions, it is worth setting aside about 3 hours. The park is quite compact, making it ideal for a short break between exploring other city locations.

Working Hours

You can visit Konstantin Trenyov Park at any time convenient for you. It is open to guests 24 hours a day, seven days a week (Monday – Sunday, 24 hours).

Thanks to free access without entry tickets, you can plan your visit for an early morning workout or a late walk under the light of the city lanterns.
