The history of this place dates back to the days when a fortress stood here. The park was officially founded in 1875 and was originally named Alexander Park. Emperor Alexander II personally planted the first oak tree during his visit. Fragments of historical fortifications, such as the ancient powder tower and arcade, have survived to this day, serving as reminders of the territory's rich past. At various times, famous figures like Gogol, Pushkin, Chekhov, and Anna Akhmatova strolled along its alleys.
Today, Taras Shevchenko Park is not just a historical landmark but also a popular leisure destination. It is home to the famous Chornomorets Stadium, a Luna Park with rides for the whole family—including the country's tallest Ferris wheel—and numerous monuments. Beautiful sea views open up from here, and convenient paths lead directly to the famous Lanzheron Beach.
