In the very heart of the Old Town, where every stone breathes history, stands the majestic Cathedral of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary. This cathedral of the Diocese of Dubrovnik is not only a spiritual center but also an outstanding monument of Italian Baroque. Built according to the design of the Roman Andrea Buffalini, the cathedral impresses with its grand dome, which has become an integral part of the city's famous silhouette in Croatia.

The building we see today is the result of a large-scale restoration following the devastating earthquake of the 17th century. Inside, the cathedral hides three naves and three apses filled with light and solemnity. Of particular value is the high altar, decorated with the polyptych "Assumption of the Virgin" by the great Titian. This work was acquired by the local Lazzarini Brotherhood and still attracts art lovers from all over the world.

Here you can see an ancient statue of the Virgin Mary, which the citizens have revered as miraculous for centuries, believing that it is capable of granting rain during periods of severe drought. It is a place where high faith, the craftsmanship of great artists, and the ancient legends of Dubrovnik intertwine.
