The Jan Becher Museum is a place where the history of one of Czechia's most famous symbols comes to life. Located in the heart of the resort town of Karlovy Vary, this unique museum is entirely dedicated to the renowned herbal liqueur Becherovka, often called the "thirteenth spring" of the resort. Visiting this site is an excellent chance to experience the country's national heritage.

The museum is housed in a historical building on Masaryka Street, which is a legend in itself. It was here, in an old pharmacy, that pharmacist Josef Becher created his healing elixir over two hundred years ago. The atmosphere of the old cellars, permeated with the aroma of herbs and spices, transports visitors back to the time when the famous drink was born.
The exhibition provides a detailed look at the production process, recipe secrets, and the brand's evolution. You can see original equipment, old aging barrels, a collection of labels and bottles from various eras, and learn interesting facts about the Becher family and the liqueur's global reach.
The museum tour includes a short film and, naturally, a tasting. Visitors can sample the classic Becherovka as well as other liqueurs produced by the company. This is not just a tour of exhibits but a true immersion into a world that has become an integral part of Czech culture.
