Rising above the waters of the Moselle, the Balduin Bridge (Balduinbrücke) serves not just as a crossing, but as a majestic monument to medieval engineering. This historic stone arch bridge, located in the picturesque city of Koblenz, is the oldest of its kind in the region. Germany carefully preserves such architectural treasures that connect different eras and riverbanks.

Construction of the bridge began as early as 1342 at the initiative of Elector Baldwin of Luxembourg. Built from durable Devonian greywacke and basalt lava, it originally featured fourteen arches. Today, the structure represents a unique architectural symbiosis: some of the ancient stone piers harmoniously coexist with modern constructions adapted for navigation needs.
For travelers, this place is attractive for its authentic atmosphere. While walking across it, you can see the statue of Baldwin of Luxembourg in the center of the structure and enjoy the panoramic views of the Old Town. The bridge remains an important transport artery, connecting the central part of the city with the historic district of Lützel.
