The name of the pavilion, "Gondwanaland," refers to the ancient supercontinent of Gondwana, which millions of years ago combined the territories of modern South America, Africa, Asia, and Australia. This concept is brilliantly embodied in the exhibition: it features flora and fauna characteristic of these distant and diverse regions of our planet.
Inside Gondwanaland, visitors can expect a complete immersion in the atmosphere of the actual tropics. More than 17,000 plants grow here, and hundreds of species of animals live here, including mammals, birds, exotic fish, insects, as well as amphibians and reptiles from Asia, Africa, and South America. Thanks to modern technology and its grand scale, every guest can take an unforgettable journey through the humid jungle without leaving the center of Europe.
