If you want to touch the ancient secrets of the Epirus region, the Archaeological Museum of Ioannina is a must-visit on your itinerary. Located in the heart of the city of Ioannina, this museum is the primary guardian of the history of northwestern Greece, covering a vast period from prehistoric times to the end of the Roman era.

The museum building, designed by the prominent architect Aris Konstantinidis in the 1960s, is considered a masterpiece of Greek modernism. Inside, across seven halls and spacious galleries, more than 3,000 unique exhibits are presented. The museum is surrounded by the greenery of Litharitsia Park, creating a peaceful and inspiring atmosphere for discovering antiquity.
Of particular value are the finds from Dodona — the oldest sanctuary and oracle, where Zeus was worshipped in ancient times. Here you can see not only majestic statues but also touching evidence of daily life: household utensils, jewelry, and lead tablets with questions that ancient pilgrims addressed to the gods.
