This picturesque space, known as the Giardini Pubblici, is the oldest public park, sprawling across a hilltop in the heart of Cagliari. A true green oasis in Italy, the park attracts travelers with its elegant layout, winding paths, and a remarkable collection of exotic flora.

The gardens' main pride is the century-old giant ficus trees with their whimsical, protruding roots and a majestic magnolia located at the center. The park is securely sheltered by ancient city walls, creating a special atmosphere of seclusion, while its terraces offer breathtaking panoramic views of the city quarters and the sea.
The presence of contemporary art adds particular cultural value to the site. Right in the fountain basins, you can see the famous sculptural composition “Dormienti” (“The Sleepers”) by artist Mimmo Paladino. Its proximity to major museums makes these gardens not just a place for a stroll, but an important cultural hub where nature meets history and creativity.
