In the picturesque Valgraziosa valley, at the foot of the Pisan Mountains, lies the majestic National Museum of the Certosa di Calci. This grand architectural complex, located near the city of Pisa, is a unique combination of spiritual heritage and scientific thought. Founded in the 14th century, this monastery in Italy impresses with its scale and the sophistication of its Baroque and Renaissance elements.

Today, the former Carthusian monastery is divided into two parts. One part houses the National Museum, where visitors can see authentic interiors: monks' cells, a solemn church with a choir, and an ancient library with rare volumes. The second part of the complex is dedicated to the Natural History Museum of the University of Pisa, whose collections are housed in former service buildings, including a massive hundred-meter-long granary.
Surrounded by quiet olive groves, the Certosa di Calci is considered one of the most significant monuments in Tuscany. It is a place where time seems to have stood still, allowing guests to experience the atmosphere of the monks' eremitic life and admire the skill of artists and architects from past centuries.
