Imagine a majestic 19th-century neoclassical building that once served as a hospital and has now been transformed into one of the country's most impressive boutique hotels. Pousada Viseu is a unique blend of historical heritage and modern comfort, located in the heart of the city of Viseu, Portugal.

The former São Teotónio hospital building is striking in its scale: it is a square structure with a massive internal cloister of 500 square meters, framed by 26 massive stone arches. Above the main entrance, three majestic statues representing Faith, Hope, and Charity "watch over" visitors, serving as a reminder of the building's original charitable purpose.
The interior, restored based on the project by architect Gonçalo Byrne, has preserved authentic elements: semicircular staircases, antique tiles, and wood paneling. Today, it houses not only a luxury hotel but also a magnificent restaurant and a modern spa, making Pousada Viseu a true cultural and gastronomic landmark of the region.
