On the left bank of the Valira River lies the remarkable Valira Park — a picturesque green zone that has become a favorite leisure spot for residents and visitors of La Seu d'Urgell. This location in Spain harmoniously combines the natural beauty of the Pyrenean riverside landscape with unique architectural elements that turn an ordinary stroll into a minor cultural discovery.

The main highlight and cultural magnet of the park is the Racionero Cloister (Claustro de Racionero). This is a modern interpretation of the classical Romanesque courtyard of the Santa Maria d'Urgell Cathedral, created in 1990. However, instead of the usual biblical scenes or mythical creatures, the capitals of its columns feature the faces of iconic 20th-century personalities. Here you can find Marilyn Monroe, Albert Einstein, and even characters from Picasso's famous "Guernica".
\nThe park serves as a bridge of sorts between the city neighborhoods and the village of Castellciutat. Thanks to the abundance of pine trees, the humid river air, and well-maintained paths, it is considered one of the most comfortable relaxation zones in the region, where modern urbanism meets the untouched nature of the river.
