Evening meals are often accompanied by live music, adding romance and coziness.

History & Facts

The site where the restaurant welcomes guests today is steeped in history. According to the chronicles, it was here in 1429 that one of the largest diplomatic receptions of medieval Europe took place — the Congress of European Monarchs. The host of the feast was the Grand Duke of Lithuania, Vitovt (Vytautas), who received such influential figures as the Polish King Jagiello and the Holy Roman Emperor Sigismund.

It is believed that the historical roots of this place go even deeper, back to the 13th century. At that time, a wooden structure supposedly stood here, serving as a venue for important meetings and feasts. The building on Plytnytsya Street acquired its modern appearance after a complete reconstruction completed in 1992, while maintaining an authentic style that harmonizes with the neighboring castle.

Since its opening in 1996, the establishment has become a living monument to the city's history. The interiors and the overall concept of the restaurant are designed to transport visitors back to the "golden age" of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, making Korona Vitovta not just a place for a meal, but an important cultural heritage site of the region.

Time Needed

To fully experience the atmosphere of the establishment and enjoy its culinary masterpieces, we recommend planning 2 to 3 hours for your visit. This is enough time for a leisurely lunch or dinner, as well as for exploring the interiors of both floors.

If you plan to visit the gastronomic gallery on the second floor or wish to spend time on the summer terrace with a view of the castle, it is worth setting aside a bit more time. A visit to Korona Vitovta is a full-fledged cultural event that should not be rushed.
