In this cozy place, created by the married couple Ruslana and Andrey Gervazyuk, several raccoons live, each with its own character and habits. Unlike traditional zoos, close contact is encouraged here: the fluffy inhabitants can be petted, held in your arms, and even treated to snacks. Such "raccoon therapy" is great for relieving stress and recharging both adults and children with positivity.

Located in the Lychakivskyi district, this project has become a popular point of attraction for exotic animal lovers. Guests come here not only for a dose of cuteness and bright selfies but also for a unique experience of interacting with wildlife within the city limits. It is an ideal place for a family holiday, where every visitor can feel like part of a large and friendly "raccoon" family.

What to Do

The main reason to visit The Raccoon House is direct contact with the animals. Here, you can do more than just watch the little creatures through glass; you can truly become friends with them: pet their thick fur, hold a raccoon in your arms, and even feel their tiny, human-like paws. Raccoons are extremely curious, so be prepared for them to want to explore your pockets, hairstyles, or jewelry.

An important part of the visit is feeding. Under the owners' supervision, you can offer the fluffy raccoons their favorite treats, which guarantees plenty of positive emotions and the chance to take fantastic photos. The animals are very active, and their games are a real show that gives a powerful boost of "fun therapy" and helps you completely switch off from everyday worries.

For those who dream of having such a pet at home, the owners provide detailed consultations. You will learn about the nuances of care, diet, and the specifics of raising common raccoons. Interacting with them at the "House" is an excellent test drive before deciding on such a responsible step and perhaps purchasing a raccoon, as they also engage in breeding here.

Getting There

The unique Raccoon House is located in a quiet corner of the Lychakivskyi district at 22 Navkolyshnia Street. The most convenient way to get here from the city center is by taxi — the trip will take about 15–20 minutes and will save you from having to navigate the maze of local streets.

If you prefer public transport, you can use trams or buses going towards the Lychakivskyi district. You will need to walk from the nearest stops, so we recommend downloading offline maps in advance or using Google Maps for precise navigation. The area is quite peaceful, and the building itself is easy to find by following signs or asking locals for directions.

For those planning to arrive by private car, parking is available near the address. The main rule is to be sure to call the owners in advance to book your slot, as visits are strictly scheduled to ensure the animals do not get overworked from too much attention.

History & Facts

The story of this unusual place in Lviv began not with a business plan, but with a childhood dream. The founders of the project, Ruslana and Andrey Gervazyuk, were not previously professionally connected with the world of animals. The idea to create their own space arose from a great love for raccoons, which the couple decided to get as pets.

Initially, a few individuals lived in the house, and the owners simply shared their joy with friends. However, when photos of the funny and restless animals began to spread rapidly through social networks, the flow of people wishing to personally meet the fluffy "washers" became huge. This inspired the couple to turn their hobby into a full-fledged mini-zoo, which became the first establishment of its kind in the city.

Today, a whole group of raccoons lives here (reportedly between 5 to 7 individuals). The owners emphasize that their pets are, first and foremost, children of nature with an inexhaustible supply of energy. For the animals to release their activity, they need constant communication and play, so guest visits only benefit the raccoons.

Interestingly, over several years of existence, the Raccoon House has become not just a tourist spot, but a place where people can receive consultations on keeping these exotic animals. The owners share their experience and even help those who are seriously thinking about getting their own raccoon, ensuring a proper approach to their upbringing.

Time Needed

To fully enjoy communicating with the restless inhabitants, a typical visitor will need from 1 to 2 hours. This time is quite sufficient to not only observe the habits of the raccoons but also to personally feed them, take a series of great shots, and listen to interesting stories from the owners about caring for these animals.

Given that visits are by appointment only, you can be sure that your time will be dedicated exclusively to interacting with the animals without unnecessary bustle. If you are planning a visit with children, you might want to allow a little more time, as it can be very difficult to pull little guests away from such charming fluffies.

Working Hours

Visits to The Raccoon House are organized according to a special schedule that takes into account the animals' periods of activity and rest. On weekdays (Tuesday–Friday), guests are welcome from 12:00 to 13:00 and from 15:00 to 20:00. On Mondays, opening hours are slightly different: from 13:00 to 14:00 and from 16:00 to 20:00. On weekends, visits are possible from 12:00 to 14:00 and in the evening from 17:30 to 19:00.

Please note that prior booking is mandatory. Since this is private property and the number of guests in a group is limited for the animals' comfort, we strongly recommend checking the latest information and booking your visit time through official social media pages or by phone.
