The history of this place began back in 1735, when military pharmacist Franz Wilhelm Natorp founded a pharmacy here, which was named "Under the Black Eagle." Over the centuries, owners changed, but the pharmacy business here never ceased.

In the 19th century, the pharmacy was owned by the Sklempinski family, whose monograms can still be seen on the ancient doors. In the early 20th century, the property passed into the hands of Mykhailo Terletskyi, under whom the establishment became known as the first Ukrainian pharmacy. Interestingly, the idea of creating a museum had been in the air since 1868, when local pharmacists began collecting ancient instruments; however, the museum officially opened its doors only in 1966.

During its existence, the building has undergone several major restorations. The first large-scale work was carried out as early as 1757, and the second in 1985 for the institution's anniversary. Today, it is not just a repository of antiquities, but the oldest active pharmacy in the city, preserving the spirit of medieval medicine and alchemy.
