During the summer season, be sure to visit the amphitheater — it often hosts free concerts, theatrical performances, and film screenings under the stars.

If you are seeking tranquility, head to the ornithological trails for bird watching or simply find a comfortable bench with a book in the shade of old oaks. Don't forget to take commemorative photos by the fountains and elegant sculptures, and after your walk, be sure to try the famous local ice cream at one of the cozy park cafes.

History & Facts

The history of this green expanse began in the 1970s. At that time, the country was actively implementing a program to create well-maintained recreational zones for residents of large cities. Initially a small square, the territory had expanded significantly by the 80s, turning into a full-fledged park with developed infrastructure.

Interestingly, when designing the landscape, architects drew inspiration from the traditions of European Enlightenment-era gardens. Although the bulk of the planting took place during the Soviet period, the park preserves centuries-old oaks dating back to the 19th century — survivors from the pre-war city gardens.

A new stage of development began in the early 2000s, when a large-scale reconstruction was carried out thanks to support from EU funds. This was when the modern ponds, summer amphitheater, and renovated paths appeared. In recent years, the park has become an example of an eco-friendly approach: solar panels are used to light certain areas, highlighting its status as a modern and sustainable space.

Time Needed

To simply stroll along the main paths and enjoy the views, you will need about 1–2 hours. However, the Culture and Recreation Park offers so many leisure options that you could easily spend the whole day here, especially if the weather is right for picnics or active games on the grass.

Families with children and sports enthusiasts are recommended to set aside at least 3–4 hours. This is enough time to try out the playgrounds, ride along the bike paths, or stop by a summer cafe. If a concert or film screening is scheduled at the amphitheater, it is worth arriving early to secure the best seats.

Working Hours

The Culture and Recreation Park is welcomingly open to visitors 24/7. You can enjoy a morning run at dawn or take a romantic stroll under the lanterns late in the evening — entrance to the grounds is free at any time.

Please note that associated facilities, such as bike rentals, cafes, and children's attractions, usually operate on their own schedules, most often from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM, depending on the season and weather conditions.
