Like a living set for a historical film, the Residence of Bukovinian and Dalmatian Metropolitans stands as one of the most impressive architectural ensembles Ukraine has to offer. Located in picturesque Chernivtsi, this landmark was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2011, highlighting its exceptional global significance.

The complex was built between 1864 and 1882 based on the design of the talented Czech architect Josef Hlávka. The architecture of the residence is a masterful blend of styles, where elements of Byzantine and Romanesque architecture intertwine harmoniously with local Bukovinian motifs. Today, these majestic walls house the Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University, making it one of the most beautiful educational institutions in Europe.
The ensemble consists of three monumental buildings forming a ceremonial courtyard. Visitors' attention is invariably drawn to the Main Building with its famous Marble Hall, as well as the Seminary Building, the heart of which is the elegant Church of the Three Holy Hierarchs. Every detail—from the colored roof tiles to the ornate wrought-iron grilles—testifies to the incredible scale and craftsmanship of the builders of the past.
