In the heart of the historical quarter stands the Saints Peter and Paul Garrison Church—one of the most majestic and ancient temples that Lviv takes pride in. This monumental building was the first Baroque structure in the territory of modern-day Ukraine.
Modeled after the Roman church of Il Gesù, the church impresses with its scale and the elegance of its lines. Its facade, adorned with sculptures, serves as a prelude to an incredibly rich interior, where the splendor of gilding meets the solemn silence of centuries-old vaults.
The building can accommodate up to 5,000 people, making it one of the largest religious buildings in the region. For tourists, this place is interesting not only as a spiritual center but also as a unique museum of architecture, preserving the spirit of the 17th century and Jesuit traditions in every detail of its decor.
