A traveler visiting Ukraine should definitely see one of the most heartwarming monuments dedicated to the region's culinary symbol. The Monument to the Poltava Galushka is a unique and very atmospheric attraction that adorns the city of Poltava. The monument consists of a large deep bowl with 12 massive dumplings (galushkas) nestled inside, accompanied by a giant spoon.
The entire composition is set on a pedestal shaped like a wooden tabletop, carefully covered with a traditional Ukrainian rushnyk featuring folk patterns. This art object embodies prosperity, well-being, and the legendary generosity of the local people. Located on Soborna Square on the picturesque Ivanova Hora, the monument harmoniously fits into the historical landscape next to the Ivan Kotlyarevsky estate.

Officially recognized as a symbol of the city since 2008, this sculptural composition has become a point of attraction for both locals and visitors. It is not just a monument to food, but a tribute to the culinary traditions and cultural identity of the region, created by masters Anatoliy Chernoshchekov and Mykola Tsys.
