This futuristic complex is one of the most striking architectural landmarks that Santander is proud of. Standing out against the cityscape, the building serves as the main center for sports and cultural life in the Cantabria region.

Located in northern Spain, the Sports Palace catches the eye with its unusual appearance. Its facade is clad in 400 sheets of stainless steel, which, from different angles, resemble the scales of a giant sea creature. It is because of this feature that locals affectionately call the building "la ballena", which translates to "the whale".
Designed by architects Julián Franco and José Manuel Palao, the complex is a multifunctional space. It hosts not only intense sporting battles but also large-scale concerts, exhibitions, and conferences. The interior can accommodate up to 10,000 spectators at once, making it one of the city's largest venues.
