What to Do

At Pub Atlántico, every evening turns into a small event. The main reason to visit is the unique opportunity to listen to live vinyl sets. The bar's collection features rare classic rock records, skillfully mixed by the bartenders to create the perfect sonic backdrop. If you're lucky, you might catch a live performance by local musicians or take part in one of the themed evenings, ranging from cabaret and magic nights to improvisational comedy by the Las Imprómicas troupe.

Connoisseurs of fine spirits should pay attention to the cocktail list, curated by professional sommelier Pilar. Here, you can try both time-tested classics and signature masterpieces made with house-made syrups and macerations. Be sure to order the famous "Flores de Otro Mundo" cocktail or choose from the many original gin and tonic variations the place is so famous for.

\n\n

For many pilgrims, a visit to this pub has become a cherished tradition—it's a popular spot to celebrate the completion of the Camino de Santiago. The atmosphere is perfect for both energetic dancing and soulful conversations (tertulias) about photography or art. Interacting with professional bartenders, who turn the preparation of every drink into a mini-show, makes an evening at Atlántico truly memorable.

Getting There

Pub Atlántico is located in the heart of the historical quarter at Rúa da Fonte de San Miguel, 9. Thanks to its central location, it is incredibly easy to reach on foot from anywhere in the Old Town—the walk from the famous Cathedral takes no more than 5–10 minutes at a leisurely pace through picturesque streets.

\n\n

If you are coming from further away, you can use public transport. Buses bring passengers to central stops like Praza do Obradoiro or Alameda, from where the bar is just a 500-meter walk. For those who prefer comfort, taxis are always available and can drop you off as close as possible to the pedestrian zone.

\n\n

For travelers arriving from Santiago–Rosalía de Castro Airport (SCQ), the most convenient option is a shuttle or bus to the city center. Keep in mind that parking in the historic center is extremely limited and often paid, making a walk the most pleasant and practical way to reach the venue.

History & Facts

The story of Pub Atlántico began in 1988, when two enthusiasts from A Coruña, Pilar and Guillermo, decided to bring the spirit of Monte Alto's urban culture to Santiago de Compostela. They created more than just a bar—a true temple of rock 'n' roll where music is played exclusively from vinyl records, many of which are rare imports or unique bootleg recordings of concerts.

\n\n

In the 90s, the establishment became the epicenter of the city's cultural life and a favorite haunt for the bohemians. It housed the first headquarters of the Chévere theater company and saw the birth of the famous "Nights of Stories and Legends," which launched the careers of many well-known Spanish comedians and actors. Pub Atlántico became a "place of power" for the creative intelligentsia: one could run into musicians from Os Quinindiola or actor Luis Tosar, who later mentioned the pub in his acceptance speeches at prestigious film awards.

\n\n

Over the decades, the pub has repeatedly set trends in the city's bar industry. It was here in the 90s that innovative coffee-based cocktails were first served, and in the 2000s, the venue introduced the trend for aromatic gin and tonics. Despite changing eras, the establishment has preserved its authenticity, remaining true to its alternative spirit and the high quality of service established by its founders more than thirty years ago.

Time Needed

To fully soak up the atmosphere of the venue, it is recommended to set aside 2 to 4 hours for your visit. This is enough time to browse the cocktail menu at your leisure, enjoy the sound of vinyl records, and perhaps catch one of the creative performances or shows.

\n\n

The best time to visit is in the evening when the pub fills up and the lights go down. If you plan to visit on a Friday or Saturday, consider allowing more time, as the vibrant energy and socializing with the local crowd might keep you there until closing.

Working Hours

Pub Atlántico is open in the evenings and late into the night, making it the perfect place to end your day. Please note that the venue is closed at the beginning of the week to recharge before the busy weekend.
