Diving into the past of the northern regions that today form modern-day Greece is impossible without visiting this unique site. The Museum of the Macedonian Struggle in Kastoria is one of the largest and most significant thematic exhibitions in Macedonia, dedicated to a crucial period in the region's development.

The museum is housed in a magnificent traditional 18th-century mansion, which previously belonged to the Picheon family. The building itself is a splendid example of Macedonian architecture: with its massive walls, cozy interiors, and spacious courtyard, it creates the perfect atmosphere for exploring historical events. Kastoria was long a key center of operations in Western Macedonia, and the museum vividly demonstrates this role through its collections.
After a thorough renovation completed in 2008, the mansion opened its doors to the general public. Today, it is not just a repository of artifacts, but an important scientific and educational center hosting lectures, book presentations, and academic meetings aimed at preserving the cultural memory of the city and the entire region.
