Tropicarium in Budapest is not just a zoo, but a real slice of wildlife in the capital of Hungary. Located in the Campona shopping center, it is considered the largest aquarium in Central Europe. Covering an area of about 3,000 square meters, it features eight halls, each recreating a unique ecosystem—from humid tropical forests to deep seas and freshwater bodies.

Here, visitors can find an amazing variety of exotic inhabitants from all over the world. Amidst the dense greenery of the tropical forests, you can encounter alligators, playful monkeys, bright birds of paradise, and parrots. The terrariums are home to various reptiles and unusual insects, while special zones allow you to observe animals in conditions as close as possible to their natural environment. Every 15 minutes, a simulated rainstorm with thunder and lightning begins in the tropical zone, adding to the authenticity.
The crown jewel of Tropicarium is undoubtedly the giant 1.4-million-liter aquarium. A walk through the 12-meter glass tunnel leaves a lasting impression: graceful rays and fearsome sharks swim directly overhead. This breathtaking sight makes you feel like part of the underwater world and makes a visit here truly unforgettable. For the most curious, there is even a touch tank where you can pet some of the marine life.
