The Olivais Educational Farm (Quinta Pedagógica dos Olivais) is a unique educational space in Lisbon, the capital of Portugal. It was created with a wonderful purpose: to introduce city dwellers, especially children, to rural life, its centuries-old traditions, and its amazing animal world. At its heart, it is a kind of agricultural mini-zoo where visitors have the opportunity not only to see domestic animals but also to learn about traditional crafts and agricultural practices.

The farm is snugly nestled in the Olivais district, in eastern Lisbon, and covers an area of about two hectares. It is home to many friendly animals: you will meet chickens, ducks, geese, rabbits, sheep, goats, and pigs, as well as be able to admire donkeys and horses. In addition, there are vegetable plots and orchards, greenhouses, a real bakery, traditional craft workshops, and special educational spaces where you can learn a lot of new things.
The Olivais Educational Farm is managed by the Lisbon municipality, and a pleasant bonus is that visiting this wonderful place is absolutely free. It is a great opportunity for a family holiday and an educational walk, where everyone, from young to old, can enjoy communicating with nature and touch the roots of rural life.
