The Alexandru Borza Botanical Garden is a true green oasis and one of the main attractions of Cluj-Napoca. Spanning approximately 14 hectares, it is one of the largest and most important botanical gardens in all of Romania. It is more than just a park; it is a significant research and educational center belonging to Babeș-Bolyai University.
Founded in 1920 by the famous Romanian botanist Alexandru Borza, the garden now houses a collection of more than 10,000 plant species from all over the world. It harmoniously combines scientific research with aesthetic pleasure, making it a popular spot for scientists, students, and tourists seeking peace and beauty. In 2010, the garden was officially designated as a national historic monument.

The garden's territory is divided into several themed areas, each unique in its own way. Visitors can stroll through the ornamental, phytogeographic, systematic, and economic sections. Of particular interest are the "Japanese Garden" with its traditional pagoda and stream, and the "Roman Garden" featuring archaeological finds from the ancient Roman colony of Napoca, including a statue of the goddess Ceres. This is a place where you can not only enjoy nature but also touch history.
