In the very heart of the historical center of Cluj-Napoca stands one of the most recognizable landmarks preserved in Romania—the Matthias Corvinus Monument. This monumental bronze and stone sculptural composition is dedicated to the outstanding Hungarian king who was born in this city.

Located on the picturesque Union Square (Piața Unirii), the monument harmoniously completes the architectural ensemble in front of the majestic St. Michael's Church. Created in 1902 by the sculptor János Fadrusz, the monument has become a true symbol of the cultural heritage of the region and a point of attraction for all visitors to the city.
The composition features King Matthias on horseback, surrounded by his generals, giving the monument a special solemnity and significance. It is not just a historical site, but a living testament to Transylvania's rich past, drawing attention with its aesthetics and grand scale.
