Walking through the center of Uzhhorod, it is hard not to notice the elegant bronze figure of an artist who seems to have frozen for a moment before his easel. The Monument to Ignatiy Roshkovych is not just a statue, but a tribute to an outstanding master of the brush whose work united nations. Ukraine is proud of this corner where art history literally comes to life before the eyes of passersby.

This full-length sculpture (about 180 cm tall) was installed in 2012 on Yevhen Fentsyk Square. It is crafted so masterfully that from a distance, it appears lifelike. The work was created by the famous sculptor Mikhail Kolodko, who managed to capture not only the painter's features but also the very creative atmosphere of that era. The monument is considered one of the city's most popular photo spots due to its exceptional resemblance to a real person.
The sculpture depicts Roshkovych in the process of working, highlighting his status as a prominent monumentalist painter. The monument is very well placed—at the junction of the square and the embankment—making it a natural part of the urban landscape and a must-see point on any tourist route through Zakarpattia.
