The majestic Christ the Saviour Cathedral is a spiritual landmark that Uzhhorod is rightfully proud of. Located on Cyril and Methodius Square, this Orthodox church is an outstanding example of modern ecclesiastical architecture, seamlessly blending traditional Byzantine canons with the bold engineering solutions that modern Ukraine offers travelers.

The main architectural feature of the cathedral is its scale: the building's height reaches 60 meters. The gilded main dome, 14 meters in diameter, contrasts strikingly with four smaller light-blue domes. Inside the church, a unique technique was implemented — an additional drum with steps is hidden under the main one, creating an impressive open under-dome space, which had previously rarely been used in the construction of such structures.
This cathedral is not only a place of prayer but also an important cultural point on the city map. Its golden crosses are visible from many parts of the city, inviting tourists to appreciate the grandeur of the interiors and the peaceful atmosphere of the temple grounds. Christ the Saviour Cathedral is where the history of faith meets the modern art of architecture.
