History & Facts

The history of this retail giant began in 1996, when marketing research led to the decision to create a large-scale shopping space in Maribor. Construction officially broke ground on October 23, 1998. Work proceeded at a rapid pace, with the main construction phases completed in just 11 months.

The grand opening of Europark took place on August 23, 2000. At the time, it was recognized not only as the largest but also as the "friendliest" shopping center in all of Slovenia. The mall's popularity grew rapidly: by 2004, the number of visitors had exceeded 20 million people, providing a strong incentive for further development.

In 2006, a major expansion of the complex began. As a result of this modernization, the number of stores increased to 119, and many global brands chose this location for their first entry into the Slovenian market. Today, the complex remains a key retail and social hub for the region, constantly updating its list of brands and services.

Time Needed

To leisurely browse the main departments and soak in the atmosphere, most visitors need about 2 to 4 hours. This is plenty of time for productive shopping and a short coffee break at one of the local cafes.

If you plan to explore the offerings of all 119 stores in detail, have lunch at a restaurant, or attend one of the festive events, it is worth setting aside half a day. The flexibility of the space allows you to easily adapt your visit to your personal goals and travel pace.
