The Petřín Lookout Tower is one of Prague's most recognizable symbols, rising gracefully on the hill of the same name. This elegant metal structure is often called the "little sister" of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, and for good reason. Its creation was made possible by members of the Club of Czech Tourists who, after visiting the World's Fair in Paris in 1889, were so inspired by Gustave Eiffel's creation that they decided to give their capital a similar but unique monument.

Construction of the 60-meter metal tower, weighing about 170 tons, was completed in record time in 1891. Despite its outward resemblance to the Parisian prototype, the Petřín Tower has its own distinctive features, such as an octagonal rather than a square base. Located at the top of the hill, it is an integral part of the cityscape and one of the main tourist attractions in the Czech Republic.
The main reason thousands of visitors flock here is, of course, the observation deck at the top. After climbing 299 steps (or taking the elevator), you will be rewarded with a breathtaking panorama of all of Prague. From this height, you get a magnificent view of Prague Castle, the bends of the Vltava River, and the endless sea of tiled roofs, making a visit to the tower an unforgettable experience for any traveler.
