History & Facts

The history of this recreation spot dates back to 1930. Even then, the "Krasnaya Chuvashiya" newspaper wrote about the popularity of the "meadow side" of the Volga among citizens who enjoyed crossing the river to spend time in nature. Nearly a century later, this place remains a magnet for thousands of people.

The modern stage of the beach's development began in 2015, when a large-scale reconstruction was carried out. The territory was significantly expanded, and modern equipment and water attractions were installed, bringing the level of comfort to a new standard. Today, it is one of the most well-equipped river recreation areas in the region.

The beach's surroundings are also noteworthy. It is nestled within a relict pine forest, with the famous Cheboksary Bay located nearby. The formation of the modern landscape is linked to the history of the hydroelectric power station construction and the creation of a transport and pedestrian dam in the 1990s, which reshaped the coastline into what we see today.

Time Needed

If you just want to take a quick dip and sunbathe for a while, a couple of hours might be enough. However, most visitors prefer to come here for half a day (3–6 hours) to fully enjoy the atmosphere of the pine forest and the vast river views.

If you are planning a family outing with a picnic, sports games, and water attractions, your visit can easily last the entire day. The abundance of shade under the pines and the availability of cafes make it comfortable to spend a long time here, even on the hottest summer days.

Working Hours

The main operating season for the beach is during the summer months—from June to August. During this time, the area is open to visitors daily, generally from early morning until sunset (approximately 09:00 to 21:00).

Please note that the presence of professional lifeguards and the first aid station are usually tied to official operating hours. It is recommended to check for up-to-date information on the official website or social media before your trip, as the operating schedule may change depending on weather conditions.

A visit to the beach on the left bank can easily be combined with exploring other interesting sites in the city. Discovering the surroundings and walking along the Cheboksary embankments will help you fully experience the atmosphere of the Chuvash capital and see its iconic symbols.
