While strolling through the historical center of the city of Cheboksary, it's impossible to miss one of its most charming genre sculptures. The Monument to Ostap Bender and Kisa Vorobyaninov is a bronze tribute to great literature, located right on a pedestrian boulevard.

The composition depicts the main characters of the novel "The Twelve Chairs," looking as if they've just stepped off the pages and into modern-day Russia. The life-sized figures feature the ironic and self-assured Ostap alongside a somewhat bewildered Ippolit Matveyevich. Between them stands the coveted bronze chair, a symbol of unfulfilled hopes and an adventurous spirit.
This art object is more than just a static statue; it's an interactive landmark. The skill of sculptor Vladimir Nagornov shines through in the lifelike emotions and characteristic poses, making the monument an incredibly popular spot for atmospheric photos.
