Conception Castle (Castillo de la Concepción) is a majestic medieval fortress from the 13th–14th centuries, crowning the hill of the same name in the heart of Cartagena. As the highest point of the historic center, the castle serves not only as an important architectural monument but also as the main observation deck, offering breathtaking panoramic views of the seaport, bays, and old quarters.

The fortress is a monumental square structure surrounded by the picturesque Torres Park. Here, among green gardens and quiet alleys, you can find freely roaming peacocks that give this historical site a special charm. The castle was built on the foundations of an ancient Roman temple and for centuries played a key role in the defense of the coast that now graces southern Spain.
Today, it is a popular tourist site that combines features of Moorish style and Christian fortification art. Due to its significance, the castle has been honored with a depiction on the city's coat of arms, remaining a living witness to the turbulent history of the Murcia region.
