It is hard to call this place just a bathhouse — it is a true architectural masterpiece and a museum of living traditions. Here, every guest is surrounded by elegant horseshoe arches, geometric tiles, and soft light filtering through holes in the domes, creating a sense of privacy and peace.

Built in 2001, the complex has absorbed the spirit of the Moorish era when Spain was a crossroads of cultures. The use of authentic materials and antique styling allows guests to feel the historical depth of the place while enjoying modern levels of service and comfort.

What to Do

The main activity here is the traditional water ritual. Guests are invited to alternate between pools of varying water temperatures: from cool and refreshing to hot, helping to relax muscles as much as possible. Between dips, be sure to step into the steam room, where gentle eucalyptus-scented steam cleanses the skin and respiratory system.

Special attention should be paid to the massage treatments. You can choose a massage using essential oils inspired by the scents of Al-Andalus, such as rose, lavender, or red jasmine. A traditional scrub on a hot stone is the perfect way to finish the program, restoring radiance and softness to your skin.

In between treatments, be sure to visit the relaxation area. Here you can slowly sip herbal mint tea while listening to the gentle murmur of water and enjoying the silence. It is the perfect place to disconnect from city noise and achieve harmony of body and soul surrounded by ancient patterns.

Getting There

Located in the very heart of the historical center, Hammam Al Ándalus is within walking distance of key tourist locations. If you are strolling through the old Jewish quarter of La Judería or visiting the Mezquita, the walk to the spa complex will take only a few minutes through picturesque winding streets.

For those traveling from more distant parts of the city, taking a taxi is the most convenient option. Drivers know the address well, and the ride from the central station is quick and comfortable. Alternatively, you can use city buses that stop near major cultural sites, from which the hammams are a 10–15 minute walk away.

If you are traveling by private car, please keep in mind that the streets in Córdoba's historical center are very narrow and traffic is often restricted. It is recommended to leave your car in one of the paid parking lots outside the pedestrian zone and finish the journey on foot, soaking in the atmosphere of the ancient city.

History & Facts

Although the current building was erected in 2001, its roots go deep into the region's Moorish past. From the 8th to the 15th century, when Córdoba was the cultural capital of Europe, hammams served as more than just baths; they were vital social institutions. This is where state affairs were discussed, business deals were made, and the daily life of the citizens unfolded.

The modern project is a tribute to the times when the city boasted hundreds of public bathhouses. The creators of the complex sought to accurately reproduce the architectural code of Andalusia: horseshoe arches, intricate mosaics, and the deliberate play of light transport guests back to the heyday of the Caliphate of Córdoba.

Interestingly, every decorative element — from the shape of the dome to the scents of the oils used — was chosen to ensure historical authenticity. This allows visitors to not only relax but literally touch history, feeling like part of the Golden Age of Islamic Spain.

Time Needed

To fully experience the magic of Arabian traditions, there is no need to rush. Typically, a standard session, which includes visiting rooms with different water temperatures and time for relaxation, takes about one and a half to two hours. This is sufficient time for the body to adjust to the temperature changes and fully unwind.

If you plan to enhance your visit with a traditional massage or special cleansing rituals using oils, we recommend allocating up to 2.5 hours. This will allow you to enjoy tea in the relaxation area without haste, concluding your spa day at a peaceful pace.

Working Hours

The complex welcomes guests daily, offering a convenient schedule for both early birds and those who prefer to relax after a full day of sightseeing. The hammam is open seven days a week according to the following schedule:

Monday — Sunday: from 10:00 to 22:00.

It is recommended to book your visit in advance, especially on weekends and holidays, as the number of places per session is limited to maintain an atmosphere of privacy.
