The history of this location began long before the neon signs appeared. The building where life thrives today was built in 2006 and was originally known as Materik Shopping Center. At that time, it belonged to the well-known Rainford trading group, but economic changes in the country forced the property to change owners and temporarily fade into the background.
In 2018, the decision was made for a large-scale transformation. The old concept was deemed outdated, and the building was closed for major reconstruction. The process of turning "Materik" into something completely different took just over a year. The new owners were well-known Ukrainian businessmen Ruslan Shostak and Valeriy Kyptyk, who decided to create an innovative space here.
The official opening of the renovated center under the NEO PLAZA brand took place on December 14, 2019. The project became the embodiment of youth trends: boring galleries were replaced by interiors in the style of cyberpunk and science fiction. It wasn't just a renovation, but a complete reimagining of the shopping center's role in the urban environment.
Today, the complex is considered one of the most striking examples of successful commercial real estate repositioning in Dnepr. The transition from a classic supermarket to a futuristic lifestyle center allowed the property to find a second wind and become a point of attraction for a progressive audience.
