Getting to know the historical heritage preserved by Romania would be incomplete without a visit to this majestic structure. The Fortress Church (Biserica Reformată din Cetate) is an outstanding monument of 14th–15th-century Gothic architecture and the oldest religious building in the city of Târgu Mureș.

The church is located inside a powerful medieval citadel, giving it a rugged yet noble appearance. Its architectural character is defined by tall lancet windows and massive buttresses, which are seamlessly integrated into the overall system of defensive walls. Surrounding the church is the picturesque Citadel Park, a favorite spot for walks for both tourists and locals.
Of particular value are the surviving towers built by various craft guilds: the potters, archers, and carpenters. These structures symbolize the significant contribution of the city's masters to the defense of their home. Today, entry to the fortress territory and walks along its walls are available to everyone free of charge, making it one of the city's most attractive landmarks.
