Tai Sheng, located in eastern China, is influenced by a subtropical monsoon climate. This region is characterized by distinct seasonality: hot and humid summers are followed by mild, relatively dry winters. This climatic rhythm fosters lush vegetation and determines the most favorable windows for travel.

Throughout the year, the city experiences periods of heavy rainfall, particularly during the first half of summer, and periods of clear, pleasant skies in the autumn. Spring and autumn are considered transitional seasons with the most moderate temperatures, while summer can be challenging due to high humidity. Understanding these features will help you properly plan your leisure time and sightseeing.

Temperatures in Tai Sheng fluctuate significantly throughout the year, from a crisp +4°C on winter nights to a sweltering +34°C at the height of summer. The hottest months are July and August, when the average daily maximum consistently stays above +33°C. Due to high subtropical humidity, it can feel much hotter, so it is best to spend the daytime hours in the shade or air-conditioned spaces.

Winter in the city, falling in January and February, is characterized by moderate cool spells. During the day, the thermometer usually rises to +11–12°C, while at night it can drop to +4°C. Although severe frosts do not occur here, the cool wind and high humidity call for warm clothing. The most comfortable temperatures occur in April and October, when the air warms to an ideal +22–24°C, providing maximum comfort for walking.

Precipitation in Tai Sheng is unevenly distributed, forming distinct wet and dry seasons. The true peak of the rains occurs in June—this is the "wettest" month of the year, with over 330 mm of rainfall and up to 20 rainy days. This period often sees heavy monsoon downpours that can last for several days in a row.

In contrast to summer, the winter months from December to February are the driest. December sees the minimum precipitation (about 46 mm), and the sky remains clear more often. In autumn, starting from October, humidity levels drop and rain becomes a rare visitor, creating excellent conditions for tourism. Snow in Tai Sheng is extremely rare; most winter precipitation is limited to light mist or short-lived cold rain.

When preparing for a trip to Tai Sheng during the summer period (from June to August), be sure to choose light clothing made of natural fabrics such as cotton or linen. Due to high humidity and temperatures above +30°C, clothing should be as breathable as possible. Don't forget to pack a compact umbrella or a high-quality raincoat—downpours can start suddenly—as well as sunscreen and a wide-brimmed hat.

For a visit in winter (December–February), it is better to stick to the principle of layering. Although daytime temperatures usually stay above +10°C, high humidity makes the air feel cool, so a light jacket, sweater, and thick trousers will come in handy. In spring and autumn, a versatile set would be T-shirts combined with windbreakers or light jumpers. Regardless of the season, comfortable walking shoes are a must, as the city and its surroundings are perfect for long walks.
