The Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Memorial, officially known as Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Samajik Parivartan Sthal, is a grand memorial complex in the city of Lucknow, India. Spanning over 107 acres in the prestigious Gomti Nagar district, this massive monument is dedicated to the life and legacy of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar—a prominent advocate for social justice and the first Law Minister of independent India. The memorial is not just a landmark but an important symbol of social transformation in the country.
The complex commemorates not only Ambedkar himself but also other significant figures who fought for equality, including Jyotirao Phule, Narayana Guru, Birsa Munda, and others. The entire ensemble is built from majestic red sandstone specially brought from Rajasthan, giving it a monumental and solemn appearance. It is a place of deep reverence and reflection on history and social reforms.
