The Lviv National Opera, whose full name is the Solomiya Krushelnytska Lviv National Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre, is one of the main architectural and cultural gems of Lviv and all of Ukraine. This majestic building, constructed at the end of the 19th century, is rightfully considered one of the most beautiful theaters in Europe and is a must-see on every visitor's itinerary.

The theater is an outstanding example of architecture, combining Neo-Renaissance and Neo-Baroque styles with Art Nouveau elements. Its luxurious facade is richly decorated with columns, balustrades, and numerous sculptural compositions, among which allegorical figures symbolizing Life, Art, Tragedy, and Music stand out. The building was erected based on a bold project by architect Zygmunt Gorgolewski directly over the bed of the underground Poltva River.
The interior of the opera is no less impressive than its exterior. Exquisite interiors finished with multicolored marble, gilding, decorative painting, and stucco create an atmosphere of incredible solemnity. The mirror hall with its Venetian mirrors deserves special attention, as does the lyre-shaped auditorium, crowned with a magnificent chandelier and a painted ceiling. A visit to the theater, whether for a performance or a tour, leaves an unforgettable impression and allows you to touch the world of fine art.
