Plaza de la Corredera is the heart of social life in Cordoba and one of the most impressive squares in Spain. Its main feature is its strict rectangular shape and continuous arcades around the perimeter, making it the only square of this type in all of Andalusia. The architectural style of the square is more reminiscent of Castilian examples, such as the Plaza Mayor in Madrid, which is a rarity for the southern regions of the country.
Created in the 17th century, the square has witnessed many historical events: from bullfights, which gave it its name (from the Spanish corrida — running of the bulls), to knightly tournaments, public executions, and festivals. Today, it is a lively space where numerous cafes, taverns, and shops are nestled under the arches, attracting both locals and tourists. A unique atmosphere reigns here, combining the grandeur of history with the dynamics of modern city life.

Plaza de la Corredera is not just an architectural monument, but a true open-air cultural center. Fairs, including the popular medieval market, concerts, and other public events are regularly held in the square. The colorful facades of the buildings, harmonious symmetry, and constant movement make this place ideal for leisurely walks, a cup of coffee, and observing the city's rhythm. Visiting this square allows you to feel the authentic spirit of Cordoba and see it from an unexpected, non-canonical side.
