The walk from Minska will take a bit longer but is also a pleasant route through the residential areas of Obolon.

For those who prefer surface public transport, numerous buses and minibuses run to Natalka Park. From the Obolon or Pochaina metro stations, you can take buses No. 73 or 100, or minibuses No. 180, 476, and others that travel along Volodymyr Ivasiuk Avenue (formerly Heroiv Stalingrada Avenue). You should get off at the "Natalka Park" or "Pryozerna Street" stops, which are just a few minutes' walk from the park entrance.

The history of the area where Natalka Park is located today holds many remarkable facts. In the 1930s, secret construction began here on a strategic railway meant to pass through a tunnel under the Dnipro River. This ambitious project, known as "Construction No. 1" or the "Stalinist Metro," was intended for the covert transport of troops and cargo. However, with the start of the war in 1941, all work was halted, and today, a giant reinforced concrete caisson—a massive structure that has become a unique historical artifact of the park—serves as a reminder of those times.

In the following decades, the area known as the Natalka tract remained a "wild" territory for a long time. In the 1960s and 70s, it housed a recreation center, and in the early 2000s, the Golden Gate show park briefly existed here, hosting knightly tournaments and festivals. Later, much of the land turned into an abandoned and unsafe wasteland. The situation changed dramatically when there was a threat of high-rise development on the site. Thanks to the efforts of public activists who defended the green zone, the plot was returned to the city's communal ownership.

Large-scale reconstruction of the park began in 2013, and the first renovated section opened in May 2017. In July 2018, the second section was opened to visitors, and the third was completed later. As a result of these transformations, the abandoned tract has turned into one of the most modern and beloved parks in Kyiv, which is often called a model for other green zones in the capital of Ukraine. Landscaping work continues to this day, adding new elements to the park, such as playgrounds and recreation areas.
