The impressive Alcázar Gate is one of the primary entrances to the famous defensive walls of the city of Ávila. An imposing architectural ensemble consisting of two massive granite towers joined by a bridge, it serves as a striking symbol of the medieval military architecture for which Spain is celebrated.

This gate is an integral part of the Walls of Ávila, considered among the best-preserved in Europe. Since 1985, the site has been protected by UNESCO. The formidable appearance of the grey granite blocks forming the 12-meter-high towers evokes the era of knights and the great history of the Reconquista.
Located in the eastern part of the city, the Puerta del Alcázar stands adjacent to the cathedral, creating a unique historical landscape. For tourists, this location serves as the starting point for walks along the walls, offering breath-taking panoramic views of the ancient streets and the vast Castilian scenery.
