The central axis of the park is a wide alley decorated with fountains symbolizing the Hero Cities. The main architectural focus is the 30-meter monument to St. George the Victorious, erected in 2003. Here, an atmosphere of solemnity intertwines with the comfort of green areas where rare species of trees and shrubs grow, creating an ideal space for walking at any time of the year.

Victory Park is a true open-air museum. In addition to military monuments, you can see traces of ancient history on its territory, including archaeological excavations of an ancient Greek farmstead from the 4th century BC. The popularity of this place among residents and tourists is due to its versatility: from educational excursions to peaceful contemplation of maritime landscapes.

History & Facts

The history of this place began in 1975, when it was founded in honor of the 30th anniversary of the victory in World War II. The project was developed by the talented architect I. E. Fialko, who was himself a war veteran. Remarkably, the creation of the park became a true community effort: sailors of the Black Sea Fleet, students, schoolchildren, and employees of local enterprises all took part in planting trees and landscaping the area.

The central element of the park was originally the alleys dedicated to the Hero Cities. After a period of decline in the 1990s, the park underwent a massive revival in the early 21st century. In 2003, the famous monument to St. George the Victorious appeared here, and subsequent renovations transformed it into a modern space with developed infrastructure, including the Russia Alley and the cozy Chapel of Alexander Nevsky.

The land beneath the park also holds much more ancient secrets. Archaeologists discovered the remains of a farmstead from the 4th century BC here, linking the modern memorial to the ancient heritage of the legendary Chersonesos Taurica. This combination of different eras makes this place a unique historical site, where a piece of the past may be hidden around every bend of the alley.

Time Needed

To leisurely explore the main monuments, walk along all the thematic alleys, and relax by the sea, it is recommended to set aside 2 to 4 hours for a visit to the park. This is quite enough time to see the fountains, monuments, and take memorable photos against the backdrop of the picturesque embankment.

If you plan to combine your walk with a full beach holiday or a visit to neighboring archaeological zones, it is worth reserving half a day or even a full day. The park territory is quite large, so comfortable shoes will be your best companion in this exploration.

Working Hours

One of the main advantages of this site is its accessibility to everyone. Victory Park is open 24 hours a day every day of the week, allowing you to enjoy its beauty at any time convenient for you — whether it's an early morning workout or a romantic evening walk under the lamplight.

The official schedule confirms that access to the territory is free 24 hours a day from Monday to Sunday. This makes the park an ideal location for those who want to avoid the daytime heat and prefer to spend time outdoors during cooler hours.
