The climate in Hai'an, located in eastern Jiangsu Province, is distinctly monsoonal. This part of China features four distinct seasons: from cool, moderately dry winters to hot, humid summers. With the arrival of spring in March and April, the air warms up rapidly, reaching comfortable highs of +15...+20°C during the day. This season is ideal for those who dislike extreme heat. Peak temperatures occur in July and August: during these months, the thermometer stays steadily at +31.5...+31.8°C, and the high monsoonal humidity can make the heat feel much more intense.

For the winter months (December–February), you will definitely need a warm jacket, scarf, and gloves, as the humidity makes the cold feel more piercing. If your visit is in the summer, choose light clothing made of natural fabrics like cotton or linen so your skin can breathe in the high humidity.

For a summer trip, it is highly recommended to carry a compact umbrella or a reliable raincoat, especially in July when the chance of getting caught in a downpour is highest. Also, don't forget sunscreen with a high SPF and a hat: the sun in Jiangsu Province can be very intense even on cloudy days.
