The climate in Siheung is characterized by a distinct temperate monsoon climate, which is typical for the central regions of South Korea. Proximity to the Yellow Sea noticeably tempers temperature extremes, making conditions here milder compared to the country's inland provinces, although summer monsoons bring significant humidity.

The city features four distinct seasons. Winter is cold and dry, spring delights with rapid warming and cherry blossoms, summer is marked by hot and rainy weather, and autumn brings comfortable temperatures and picturesque landscapes in golden and crimson hues. The total number of sunshine hours is about 2,000–2,200 per year, making the city quite bright and pleasant for travel during clear periods.

Temperatures in Siheung range from -5°C in the depths of winter to +30°C and above during the summer months. January and February are the coldest times of the year: daytime temperatures barely rise above freezing, and noticeable frosts are possible at night. Summer in the city is hot and humid; the peak of the heat occurs in August, when the average maximum is around +28.4°C, though high humidity can make it feel like +35°C.

Spring and autumn deserve special attention, as they see significant diurnal temperature fluctuations. In April and October, the difference between daytime warmth (up to +15–+18°C) and the nighttime chill can be 10–15 degrees. The average annual temperature in the region remains at a comfortable +12–+13°C.

Transitional periods — spring and autumn — are characterized by moderate humidity and occasional brief rains, making them the most favorable times for sightseeing tourism in South Korea.

When heading to Siheung in the summer (June–August), choose light clothing made from natural fabrics. Cotton and linen will help you better tolerate the high humidity. Be sure to bring a reliable umbrella or a high-quality raincoat to protect against monsoon rains, as well as sunscreen with high SPF, a hat, and sunglasses, as the summer sun in South Korea can be very intense.

Your winter wardrobe (December–February) should be substantial: a warm down jacket, a sweater, thermal underwear, and thick-soled shoes will be your best companions. In spring and autumn, the layering principle is most relevant. Due to significant diurnal temperature fluctuations (up to 15°C), you may feel comfortable in a light sweater during the day, but you will definitely need a jacket or a sturdy windbreaker in the evening.

Regardless of the season, don't forget comfortable walking shoes, as exploring cultural attractions will require long walks. Insect repellent will also come in handy in the summer, and moisturizing skin products are useful in winter, as the air becomes quite dry during that time.
